Arrival with your own vehicle
Kaiserslautern is connected to the highway network via the A 6 (Mannheim - Saarbrücken), the A 63 (Mainz - Kaiserslautern) and three federal highways. The RPTU is signposted at the main intersections.
Arrival by public transportation
Every hour to Kaiserslautern: The journey time with TGV / ICE / IC or RE from the ICE hub Mannheim main station is approx. 45 minutes. Long-distance and regional buses stop at the Kaiserslautern bus station in front of the main station.
From the main train station to the campus it takes about 10 minutes by regular buses, about 5 minutes by cab, about 15 minutes by rental bike and about 20 minutes on foot.

Arrival with your own vehicle (Campus)
From the north and south:
Leave the A 65 at the Landau-Nord junction and follow the B 10 for about one kilometer. Leave the B 10 on the right towards Edesheim/Landau/LD-Nußdorf and turn right at the traffic lights onto the L 512 towards Landau. Leave the traffic circle at the second exit and follow Neustadter Straße, continuing into Godramsteiner Straße. At the second set of traffic lights, turn left into Hindenburgstraße. After the zoo, turn right towards the university and follow the priority road into Fortstraße.
From the west:
Coming from the B 10, turn right at the Landau-Zentrum junction into Godramsteiner Straße. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right into Hindenburgstraße. After the zoo, turn right towards the university and follow the priority road into Fortstraße.
Parking facilities:
The location of the university's own parking lot can be found at Campusplan Landau. Alternatively, you can use the Alter Messplatz parking lot (for a fee).
Arrival by public transportation
By train: Travel to Landau/Pfalz main station. You can use the timetable information of Deutsche Bahn to plan your journey.
From the main station to the campus: From the central bus station (ZOB) at the main station you can reach the campus with the following bus lines:
- Lines 523, 542 and 543 run from the ZOB to the Uni/Messplatz stop. Current bus timetables can be found at www.südwestbus.de.
- Line 507 runs from the ZOB to the Zoo stop (Abzw. Uni). Current bus timetables can be found at www.palatinabus.de.
At http://www.vrn.de/ you can search for bus connections using an electronic timetable information system. Enter Landau, Universität as your destination.
From the main station to all locations: From the central bus station (ZOB) at the main station, line 537 (Landau city bus) runs at regular intervals between the university locations.
Arrival by plane
Frankfurt Airport (distance approx. 125 km)
Terminal 1 is connected to the regional and long-distance train stations. The train journey to Landau takes approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes with ICE connections via Mannheim and approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes via Karlsruhe. You will also find branches of all major car rental companies at the airport. It takes approx. 70 minutes by car.
Hahn Airport (distance: approx. 160 km)
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is mainly served by the airline Ryanair. There are bus connections to Mainz, Frankfurt and Karlsruhe. You will also find branches of all major car rental companies at the airport. It takes about 90 minutes by car.
Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (distance approx. 75 km)
Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport is mainly served by the airline Ryanair. From the Baden-Airpark terminal, you can reach Baden-Baden train station by bus in around 25 minutes. From the train station you need about 60 to 80 minutes (usually change in Karlsruhe). You will also find branches of all major car rental companies at the airport. It will take you about an hour by car.
Saarbrücken Airport (distance approx. 100 km)
From the airport, you can reach Saarbrücken main station in just under half an hour on the regional bus line R 10. It takes about 2 hours from the main station (change in Kaiserslautern and Neustadt or Pirmasens). You will also find branches of all major car rental companies at the airport. It takes about 90 minutes by car.
Stuttgart Airport (distance approx. 115 km)
From the airport (Terminal 1) you can reach Stuttgart main station in just under half an hour by S-Bahn S2 or S3. From the main station it takes about 1 1/2 hours (change in Mannheim or Karlsruhe). You will also find branches of all major car rental companies at the airport. It takes about 70 minutes by car.

Train and Bus
You can use various connections to reach Kaiserslautern, including Intercity or municipal trains.
There are connections to all destinations from the train station in Mannheim.
It takes about five minutes by taxi from the train station in Kaiserslautern to the university.
